Description

How do you turn foreign affairs into funny business? Take that rowdy rooster James Cagney, send him into a divided Berlin, where danger awaits around every corner, and then sit back and watch the sparks fly and the laughs begin. In one of his very best roles, Cagney plays C.R. MacNamara, a brash, top-ranking Cola executive stationed in West Berlin. When his boss's harebrained daughter Scarlett (Pamela Tiffin) falls in love and marries a fierce young Communist named Otto Piffl (Horst Buchholz), Mac must break up the union or lose his chance for advancement.
Before you can say "one, two, three", events are spinning out of control and he is obliged to deal with ferocious Russians, heel-clicking Germans and his suspicious, exasperated wife (Arlene Francis). Only James Cagney could hurl through every crisis with such aplomb, delivering each line with the gusto that kept him a star for decades. Co-authored and directed by Billy Wilder with his own special brand of astringent wit, One, Two, Three is high powered entertainment that defrosts the Cold War with gales of laughter.
