Description

When a mafia syndicate based in Australia steal Khams (Tony Jaa ONG-BAK) beloved elephants from him in Thailand he travels to Australia to get them back taking out anyone in his path. The elephants were being prepared to be presented by Khams family to his Majesty the King of Thailand as a symbol of devotion so Kham embarks on a dangerous mission to a foreign country in order to rescue the stolen elephants. Along the way Kham uses his spectacular Muay Thai martial arts skills to dispense with hundreds of mafioso soldiers. Using the same no wireworks no CGI no stunt doubles mantra as ONG-BAK WARRIOR KING is possibly the most frenetic skilful and kinetic martial arts film made in recent times. Much of the action looks spectacularly dangerous and contact is frequently made between the actors bringing to mind a more explosive version of films made by Jackie Chan and Sammo Hung in the 1980s. The most visually stunning moment occurs when Jaa embarks on mission to get to the top of a staircase in a mafia brothel pummelling scores of opponents on the way. This all takes place during a glorious four-minute long take. Tony Jaa once again demonstrates why he is the most exciting martial arts actor to have emerged in the 2000s with a display of supreme agility skill and bone-crunching power.
