Description
The ‘dream team’ behind Pride & Prejudice adapts Elizabeth Gaskell’s final novel. Andrew Davies and Sue Birtwistle bring their expertise to this tale charting the development of Molly Gibson, the daughter of a small town doctor. Set in English society before the 1832 Reform Bill we see the arrival of a new stepsister for Molly as her father re-marries and we see their development during the course of the novel from timid girls to confident and self-aware young women. This romantic story also details the burgeoning relationship between the two girls and the squire’s two sons Osborne and Roger.
