Description
Jesse (Ashton Kutcher) and Chester (Seann William Scott), two dim-witted yet lovable party animals who wake up one morning with a burning question: Dude, Where’s My Car? Their only clues are a matchbox cover from the Kitty Kat strip club, and a year’s supply of pudding in the fridge. As they retrace their steps, these dudes are in for the ride of their lives, encountering hot alien chicks, dodging killer ostriches, and trying to score “special treats” from their ticked-off twin girlfriends.
Dude, Where's My Car? Review
When a film has a title like "Dude, Where's My Car?" you know up front what to expect, and it isn't a likely Oscar winner! Jesse and Chester are a pair of young Californian stoners, the kind of people Bill and Ted or Wayne and Garth would happily hang out with. As you can probably figure out from the title, our two heroes wake up one morning after a particularly heavy night only to realise that they have no recollection of the previous evening, and no idea where they parked the car!
Seann William Scott - star of "American Pie" and "Road Trip" - and US TV star Ashton Kutcher hold the film together as Jesse and Chester, a pair of complete halfwits that it's impossible to respect but difficult to dislike.
Pursued by an angry transvestite stripper, assorted outer space cultists and a band of self confessed 'hot chicks' our intrepid duo run into assorted misadventures that, to be honest, make the film's flimsy plot almost irrelevant. What makes the film enjoyable are a number of great set pieces (including an overwhelming Chinese drive-thru, the surprise discovery of tattoos, and wild ostriches) and its carefully cultivated air of engaging stupidity.
