Description
Chon Wang and Roy O'Bannon are back and this time they set out to avenge the death of Chon's father. A Chinese rebel murders Chon's father and escapes to London and the pair follow him...
Shanghai Knights Review
Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson reprise their roles as Chon and Roy from the action packed comedy western "Shanghai Noon" (get it?) in "Shanghai Knights" (get it?). This time round the action movies from the Wild West to the streets of Victorian England as the pair reunite on a mission to avenge Chon's father's death and track down his kidnapped sister. Along the way they become embroiled in an international conspiracy to murder the British royal family and replace the Emperor of China.
The always enthusiastic Chan and the occasionally more laconic Wilson prove once again to be an engaging double act and, although not as original or vibrant as the original, "Shanghai Knights" nevertheless delivers the same familiar mix of humour and action that will no doubt appeal to fans of the first film. Meanwhile fans of Jackie Chan will be pleased to see the martial arts superstar displaying his undeniable physical talents in a number of impressive and comic set pieces (including a cleverly choreographed battle with cops set around a revolving door, a street market battle set to the music of "Singing In The Rain," and a climactic battle with his arch foe high within the workings of Big Ben). In short: one for the fans, if not for the critics!
