Description
Its a matter of life and death when eight strangers narrowly escape a catastrophic freeway accident. But now that they have put a rift in death's design, there is a price to pay - and it's going to be painful.
Final Destination 2 Review
You remember "Final Destination," the bloodthirsty tale of a bunch of teenagers who avoid death in a plane crash thanks to one young man's psychic vision, only to discover that death hasn't let them off the hook that easy as they're subsequently killed off one by one. Well here's "Final Destination 2," the bloodthirsty tale of a bunch of teenagers who avoid death in a motorway pile up thanks to one woman's psychic vision, only to discover…you get the idea!
The film sees the one survivor of the original film return, with Ali Larter spending her days locked away in a padded cell before agreeing to try and help young psychic AJ Cooke keep the Grim Reaper at bay. But basically the makers of this inevitable sequel to the surprise box office hit waste no time in setting everything up, before they start dispensing with their cast once again in a series of gruesome and imaginative ways. "Final Destination 2" is not a film that will be troubling the members of the Academy come awards time next year, but like that over simplistic TV ad it does indeed do exactly what it says on the tin. Played for shocks rather than laughs the film has already proved to be a well deserved hit in the US (where it opened to a box office total more than half as big again as the original), and looks set to do as well on this side of the Atlantic. Lets just hope that the gore hounds and Saturday night multiplex teen crowd will be just as entertained by the seemingly inevitable "Final Destination 3!"
