First unveiled to the world back in 2003 as a downloadable title, EVE Online now makes its way to games shelves as a packaged release. Playing as one of the many races on offer in the New Eden universe, EVE Online launches players into a persistent world, with hundreds of thousands of players already populating the universe. With EVE Online’s training system, some of the more repetitive tasks that online titles are known for have been removed, allowing players to train and improve their statistics even while offline. Once players learn the basics of tactical warfare they are able to attack others, with the outcome based on genuine skill rather than skill levels.
With a rich and loyal community already firmly in place, every part of EVE Online’s economy is run by the players themselves, from the manufacturing of equipment and ships to more direct trading. As more players join the sci-fi world, EVE Online’s universe will grow and expand with them.
