Description
Patapon is an addictive adventure across a surreal landscape where rhythm and tactical skills will be tested to the limit.
The player takes the role of ‘The Mighty Role’, the Patapon God. The Patapons are an army of tribe-like creatures who embark on a journey to find ‘Earthend’, the location of a sacred object called IT that the ancients spoke of, but that no Patapon has seen in generations. As they cross the land a variety of enemies are encounted, including the enemy tribe called ‘Zigotons’ and many monsters. French graphic artist Rollo designed all characters and landscapes in the game, and this gives the title a unique abstract feel.
Action takes place by learning and mastering up to six unique commands involving the Triangle, Square and Circle buttons. These perform ‘Pata’, ‘Pon’ and ‘Chaka’ moves, while playing out an extremely catchy Patapon song. For example, if a player wants to attack they enter a button command, and if they then want to defend they must enter another command. Play becomes even more involved with the ability to customize the units in an army so that different attacks can be performed.
Over 30 levels, five mini-games, original music and completely unique gameplay, Patapon provides rhythm and action fun.
